Clay Pigeon Shooting is a very sociable hobby that attracts people from all walks of life. The equipment is the same for everybody so no matter what your age, size and even people with physical disabilities can compete on a level playing field.
It’s a very accessible sport whether you’re interested in just taking part at weekends with friends, have ambitions of competing in larger registered competitions, or want to try and qualify for your county or national team and compete in International and World Championship events or even the Olympics Games.
Competitions are organised by governing bodies such as the CPSA (Clay Pigeon Shooting Association), NSCA (National Sporting Clays Association), BICTSF (British International Clay Target Shooting Federation), F.I.T.A.S.C. (Federation Internationale de Tirs aux Armes Sportives de Chasse), ICTSF (International Clay Target Shooting Federation) and the ISSF (International Shooting Sport Federation).
Any newcomers wanting to get involved can go to their local shooting ground and take part in a ‘Have A Go’ day or book a Lesson.
